Schedule: 7:00 AM - Doors open to teams only
7:30 AM - Weigh-Ins (matside)
8:00 AM - Doors open to public
9:00 AM - Competition Starts Rd 1-3 (6 mats)
12:15 PM - Approx 15 minute lunch
12:30 PM - Semis and Consolations (4 mats)
1:45 PM - Placement Round (end around 3:15)
Format/Pairing: 14 NFHS Girls Weight Classes will be used. All consolation matches are 1-2-2 minute periods. Brackets will be on trackwrestling.
Team Scoring: Placement 1st -16, 2nd- 12 pts, 3rd - 9 pts, 4th - 7 pts, 5th - 5 pts, 6th - 3 pts.
Only one wrestler will score per weight class. All wins are worth 2 points each under activity points (no bonus). Team Trophies for top team.
Seeding Criteria Levels: *Current season head-to-head wins can apply
1. IHSGW Medalist (1st-8th)
2. IHSWCA MS State Champions
3. IHSGW State Qualifiers
4. IHSWCA MS State 2nd - 4th
5. IHSGW Semi State Qualifiers + 2023 Highland Open 1st-3rd
Admission: $10.00 for all. Children PreK and under are free.
Awards: Medals will be awarded at our podium to the top three finishers in each weight class and any consolation champion.
Team Area/Food: Teams will have tables designated for team use, coolers, and food outside the gym by the main entrance. NO CROCKPOTS. Concessions will be available. Hospitality provided for coaches and officials. There will be no coolers allowed in the gym.
Register/Entries: To ensure a well-paced tournament, we will accept the first 225 entries.
Trackwrestling logins will be emailed to head coaches to enter athletes. Coaches can email entrees to Coach Mark Maldonado at mmaldona@highland.k12.in.us no later than November 12th! (Please include First/Last Name, Weight Class, Grade). Each team will be allowed to enter a maximum of 20 wrestlers.
Entry Fee: $20 per wrestler, max fee of $200.
